A Gentleman in Moscow
A Gentleman in Moscow is how I imagine a Wes Anderson novel would read. It’s light hearted and filled with moments of splendor, but is in a difficult time: the Bolshevik Revolution.
Count Rostov, the protagonist, is a holdover from an aristocratic age, who must come to terms with his new life confined in the Metropol.
The novel covers decades of Russian history from the perspective of a charming gentleman living in the attic of a grand hotel. How much more Wes Anderson can you get?
Beautiful imagery, whimsical humour, and enticing storytelling make A Gentleman in Moscow a great read.
