Salt Fat Acid Heat is an awesome book for understanding the fundamentals of cooking. Each section describes one of the four elements of cooking and how they can be applied to change up the flavour of your food.

Nosrat provides an excellent framework for thinking about cooking, and it’s stuck with me ever since. I find myself thinking of recipes in terms of the four elements, and it makes it easy to improvise and experiment with dishes.

In addition to the sections breaking down the elements, Nosrat provides a ton of easy to follow recipes, and even organizes them into set menus. Super useful when planning a dinner party.
